NGH Convention & My Experience as a 5-PATH® Hypno

There were too many people and not enough hallway. Just imagine what the Times Square Subway Station might be like at rush hour. The energy however was, unique. People moved about the narrow corridors with grace, smiles, greetings, and courtesy. I was at my first convention of the National Guild of Hypnotists.

It was so excited to be among the greats in our industry, such as, Gerald Kein, Dr. Damon Dwight, Don Mottin, Jerry Valley and of course my mentor, Cal Banyan. After years of watching their videos and reading their books, I was a little star struck, though they were so approachable. These giants of our industry spent time chatting with me. I got to know them on a personal level and even had an open exchange of ideas of professional techniques.

Everyone was treated respectfully at the NGH convention. I have truly never seen a more diverse and enthusiastic group of people, all bonded with passion to help others. I have the honor of working for Cal Banyan and I feel my skills as a hypnotherapist are strong. I therefore attended many workshops that focused on methods of getting more clients. I learned all types of fascinating marketing techniques. I am excited to be working on them right now. Just wait to see what happens next!

Cal and Maureen are amazing. They had this great 5-PATH® reunion banquet on Thursday night. I had the pleasure of getting to know many of my colleagues, who I speak to online either through the Yahoo groups or on www.MyHypnoSpace.com. I met 5-PATHers from around the world. With so many cultural differences, it was amazing to feel so connected to them all. I had made some great friends!

I enjoyed hearing stories of 5-PATH® victories and bloopers. We all learned something. One 5-PATHer told me a story about how she survived an illness by the help of hypnotherapy and as a result, trained to become a certified hypnotherapist and now helps others get through some difficult times. Her story had some of us in tears. When we do what we love, it is not work!

Again big thanks to Maureen Banyan for planning such a wonderful and meaningful reunion. The food was delicious too.

Cal was so supportive of us too. He introduced us to all kinds of people. It was interesting that so many people asked me to introduce them to Cal Banyan. I feel so lucky for working with such a innovative and charismatic man. One thing that happened repeatedly was people identifying my 5-PATH® button and asking me questions about Cal and 5-PATH®. So many people attended Cals's workshops and wanted to become 5-PATHers themselves.

Many people bought the 5-PATH® home study and others inquired about taking the 5-PATH® certification class this fall, either in Orange County, CA or "live" over the internet. I felt like a member of some elite club. I was glad to explain the virtues of 5-PATH® and 7th Path Self-Hypnosis®. From what I could tell there is no better or comprehensive method of helping clients achieve their goals. Everyone could tell from participating in Cal's workshops that 5-PATH® is both effective and elegant. The more 5-PATHers the better. The world will be a better place as we train and work with clients to help them reach their goals.

5-PATH® is not only about saving a life by helping someone quit smoking forever, it is about the complete change that happens with every client we work with. Clients depart in total control of their life and fully empowered to live and love the life they have. Clients leave us stronger and ready to live their life to the fullest. I am so proud and fortunate to be a part of it!

I cannot wait until the next NGH convention. I learned so much from the many and I am better off for it.

What about you? Did you attend the convention? How has it changed you? What were the highlights of the event for you? Please share you experiences and let those who did not make it to the NGH convention this year about the value of attending next year.

Hello to my fellow Hypnotists and Hypnotherapist,

I had some free time over the weekend and I decided to pick up a book that I had read back when Cal Banyan was certifying me to be a hypnotherapist.  The book is called, Hypnosis and hypnotherapy; Basic To Advanced Techniques For The Professional.”  This book is written by Cal Banyan and Gerald Kein.  I call it Cal’s Black Book.

Have you read this book lately?  If not check it out again.  It is arranged so you can easily learn the step-by-step techniques of being a great hypnotherapist.  Just today, I looked through the section on age regression.  I feel confident about my ability to perform a successful age regression and neutralize any of the negative feeling or erroneous beliefs of my client.  When I reviewed the chapter, I was reminded of a nuance in the process that I probably was not ready for last year, but became a jewel to me today.

An example of something that I learned from the book, which I will apply today, is to use my voice in a powerful way while conducting the affect bridge.  The pearl of wisdom that I took in today was to point out to the client the physical changes that I see occurring as I do a count from one to five as I ask them to bring up the emotions that we will regress off of.

For example, I will normally say, “One, that feeling is beginning to rise within you.  Two, coming up more and more.  Three, coming up strongly now.”  If I notice there is a change in the client’s breathing or if their face is tuning red I will point it out to them in the middle of the count to five.  This will strengthen the power of the feeling and improve the affect bridge as I prepare to regress them to an earlier time they felt this way.  This is some powerful stuff.

This may be common knowledge for many of you.  Others may not understand what I am talking about.  If you are dedicated to becoming the best hypnotherapist you can be, read this book!  Read it again!  If you do not own it, buy it!  You can purchase it on www.BanyanHypnosisMall.com

This book is a quick read and should be reviewed every few months by the expert and novice alike.  This book will also prepare some of you who do not yet practice 5-PATH® to learn about Cal Banyan’s 5-PATH® Hypnotherapy Certified Training Class.  His next class will be in October.  Students can participate in the class, live online or in the classroom at the Banyan Hypnosis Center For Training & Services, Inc. in Orange County California. Do yourself a favor and read Cal’s black book again.  It is an easy read and will improve your work.

Best of luck to you all.

Who is going to the NGH Convention?

Tuesday, July 31, 2007, 04:50 PM PST [General]

Who is going to the NGH Convention? I will only know a few people at the convention. This is my first NGH convention and I would like to get to know some people over the internet who I can meet at the convention.

I have been working for Cal Banyan at the Banyan Hypnosis Center over the last year. I've learned so much by learning 5-PATH & 7th-PATH. After years of practicing hypnosis as a hobbyist, I now have all the tools, techniques and confidence to service any client with any problem.

Did you know that Cal Banyan is doing this thing called, "A Week of Power?" If you are already going to be in Massachusetts and are not a 5-PATH Hypnotherapist, you should definitely check out this comprehensive method of hypnotherapy. What makes it so effective is that this technique has five phases. Each phase is designed to do a different and specific hypnotherapy process that causes complete and permanent change to the client. I find that not only do my clients resolve their issues, but also they learn to love themselves and get control of their lives.

Feel free to contact me if you are going on the convention. I can sometimes be shy (particularly in large crowds) and would like to know some people.

See you in a few weeks,

    Marc Drucker

    Hello!

Thanks for visiting my website. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I have been practicing hypnosis since I was hypnotized to quit smoking over ten years ago. While developing as a hypnotherapist, I taught special education to students in the New York City schools system. I taught elementary, middle and high schools for several years. I hold a Master of Education/Special Education. After I relocated to Southern California, I studied here at the Banyan Hypnosis Center, where I received my certification in hypnotherapy from the National Guild of Hypnotists. Since graduation from the program, I have been working at the Banyan Hypnosis Center as a Hypnotherapist. I work in all areas of hypnosis including smoking cessation, habit control, weight loss, pain management, teen/childhood issues, fears and phobias, but has a special interest in helping those who want to raise their achievement level.

    Thanks again for stopping by,
    Marc Drucker
